Steve Smith after win:

 Everything I guess (on what he attributes the win to). The first day losing the toss, having to bowl first.. Our bowlers got the ball in the right areas and put India under pressure. I thought Kuhnemann was really good on the first day. All our bowlers contributed and bowled in partnerships, first innings Usman was outstanding and he's been really good for us this series. Yesterday India fought back and I thought we had to toil really hard, Puji played an outstanding innings but we really stuck at it, Nathan got all the rewards with 8 wickets but I think our bowlers as a collective were really good. It was a complete performance. We are thinking about Patty, who's gone back home, our thoughts are with him. I really enjoyed it and like captaining in this part of the world as I understand the conditions really well. There's an event every ball and a lot different to the other parts of the world, and I did a reasonable job this week. Much the same, we will wait and see what the conditions are like, but we are really proud to clinch a spot in the WTC final. Hopefully we can put a similar performance and draw the series.

Conclusion:

Australia had lost the last 2 test matches against India in BGT(BORDER GAVASKAR TROPHY).Half of the Australian players had returned home including captain Pat Cummins.Like the last 2 test matches,this test match also ended in less than 2 and half days.But the result was different this time.Australia won the third match of the test match convincingly by 9 wickets.Here came the role of Great Steve Smith.He was given the captaincy in absence of regular captain.And the team which he had to captain was already on backfoot after two consecutive losses.Such was the character of Steve that Australia not only bounced back but in a comprehensive manner.The quality of their batting was much ahead in comparison to Indian side.And Lyon superseded every other bowler in performance.Lyon had already taken 113 wickets against India and this was his 9th fifer against India.He had taken 8 wickets second time in an innings against India and already 7 wickets 3 times in an innings against India.Surely credit went to the best batsman after Bradman in test cricket for the manner in which he kept the morale of his team so high and boosted otherwise it had been almost impossible for any team to win any test match against India in India.Steve was not only a great batsman but his understanding of the game was also quite remarkable.The way he circulated the bowlers in tandem was also quite appreciable.Lyon had been a regular performer for Australia.But the manner in which Kuhnemann bowled in first innings made the way for Australian victory.India was all out for only 109. And India had been never able to come out of this pressure.Ashwin,Axar and Jadeja were surely special.But in this test match,Lyon, Murphy and Kuhnemann superseded them.Murphy and Kuhnemann were new to test cricket,but indian trio was much experienced and ahead in the number of test matches they played.But Australia dominated over India in every department.India had wasted her all 3 reviews in the first innings.There had been no comparison with Australian team in the character they used to show towards game and the professionalism they have brought to the game.Steve Smith was just carrying the legacy he had inherited.
