Remembering some facts about this great man...

2011: Makes his debut during Indian Test cricket's worst phase. His heroes Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman get dismantled in front of his eyes even as he stands up with a century to announce his arrival.

India lose 0-4, their golden generation, demolished by Australia.

2014 : He is entering his peak. He scores 4 blistering centuries against Mitchell Johnson led Australian attack that had destroyed England's greatest Test side just the previous summer.

Kohli takes over Test captaincy, and India demonstrate that they can compete. 0-2. A mark of things to come as India don't lose the 2 Test matches he was captaining.

2018: 7 yrs into his career,  India become the first Asian side ever, and only the third side in the last 20 years to win a series in Australia. 2-1

2021: In 3 years, the Test side he built, do it all over again, just to prove the first time wasn't a fluke. 2-1.

Indian Test cricket was forever transformed.
