An Invitation to Her Wedding

 An Invitation to Her Wedding

She’s sent an invitation for her wedding day,

A day I thought would be ours, someday.

Once, we walked as one, hand in hand,

Building dreams upon shifting sand.

Those evenings spent in whispered talk,

Promises made on a moonlit walk.

Each glance, each touch, was a vow we’d keep,

But now, those promises lie buried deep.

Today, I hold this card in my hand,

Decorated with gold, beautifully planned.

Her name, beside another’s, clear and bold—

A story rewritten, a future retold.

Once, we were everything to each other,

Now, she steps forward with someone other.

I’ll smile and stand as a silent guest,

Wishing her joy, wishing her the best.

In my heart, memories quietly sway,

As she celebrates her wedding day.
