Jealousy

 Jealousy

I wonder sometimes, what love this is,

The sky pouring down on earth’s sweet kiss.

The clouds bound close in her embrace,

I watch from afar, in a lonely place.

Wrapped in the arms of darkened skies,

The earth smiles and sways, as the rain lies.

Each drop slips softly along her skin,

While I burn with envy deep within.

Each raindrop quenches her thirsty ground,

With every splash, her name resounds.

Here I stand, dry and alone,

Unseen by this love I’ve never known.

If only I could be the earth,

So rain would drench me, prove my worth.

But perhaps their bond is only theirs,

While I am left in empty airs.

With every drop that heals her scars,

The rain renews her beneath the stars.

And I, in longing, only sigh—

Wishing such love would drift my way.
