"When Spring Fades"

 "When Spring Fades"

The breeze turns cold, the flowers bow,

Spring’s tender touch, a fading vow.

The air, once sweet with blooming grace,

Now whispers softly, leaving space.

The robin’s song, a mournful tune,

Underneath the waning moon.

The lilacs fall, their petals slow,

As spring lets go, and begins to go.

How strange the shift, how sudden too,

From vibrant hues to somber blue.

The warm embrace of sunlit skies,

Now dims beneath the clouded eyes.

The tulips bend, their colors pale,

The fragrant winds begin to fail.

The roses that once bloomed so bright,

Now shrink away in waning light.

My heart aches in the quiet air,

For the world that’s fading, unaware.

Each step away from April’s smile,

Leaves me longing, for just a while.

The fields that danced in golden green,

Now hold their breath, the grass unseen.

The laughter of the bees and birds,

Now echoes faintly, just a word.

The warmth that cradled every leaf,

Turns into sorrow, silent grief.

The flowers bow their heads in shame,

As though they know they’ve lost their name.

The garden, once a vibrant song,

Now whispers in a tone so wrong.

The earth is heavy with the change,

The fragrance lost, the heart estranged.

The scent of jasmine fades away,

Like memories that slip astray.

The violets close, the daffodils weep,

And in their loss, my soul does seep.

Spring, I feel you slipping through,

Like childhood dreams I once knew.

Your laughter now is but a sigh,

As summer looms beneath the sky.

I grieve for the petals that fall too soon,

For the songs no longer sung by June.

The warmth that kissed the morning air,

Now lingers like a distant prayer.

How sweet your presence, springtime dear,

How bitter now your fading near.

Your colors were my heart’s delight,

Now all that’s left is coming night.

But still, I feel you in the breeze,

In whispered winds among the trees.

Your memory blooms in quiet places,

In the gentle touch of unseen faces.

The pain I feel, it’s not of loss,

But of the beauty at such a cost.

For nothing stays, not even spring,

And yet you gave me everything.

So as you fade, I let you go,

With tears that only autumn knows.

And though I mourn your passing end,

I’ll wait for you, my eternal friend.

For even in the deepest grief,

I know you’ll return, beyond belief.

Through every season’s winding lane,

I’ll wait for you, through every pain.
