The Greatest Crime A Poem by Rupesh Ranjan
The Greatest Crime
A Poem by Rupesh Ranjan
Again, the same lines, the same despair,
History repeats, yet none seem to care.
We are committing the greatest crime,
Letting war persist, time after time.
The echoes of pain, the children’s cries,
Under shattered homes and burning skies.
To continue this conflict—how can it be?
A world so blind, refusing to see.
This is wrong; we must not allow,
Yet silence prevails, heads still bow.
Are we waiting for fate to intervene?
Or a miracle from realms unseen?
If justice sleeps, if truth is chained,
If peace is lost, and love profaned,
Then tell me, is it better still,
That Earth should perish, void of will?
For what is my comfort, what is my light,
If my brother is lost to the endless night?
If one soul suffers, none are free,
Peace is not peace unless it’s for all to see.
