The Journey of Ram
The Journey of Ram
Born in the house of Raghu, radiant child,
With a smile serene, and a heart so mild.
Four brothers bound in fraternal flame,
Yet You, O Ram, bore destiny’s name.
The sage’s bow, the Swayamvar grand,
Sita’s garland placed in Your hand.
Two souls united, heaven rejoiced,
As dharma and love found a single voice.
But fate unfolds with trials untold,
Kaikeyi’s wish, a demand so bold.
Exile proclaimed, fourteen years long,
Yet You bore it calm, as if nothing was wrong.
Through forests deep, where shadows fall,
You walked with patience, protecting all.
With sages, with seekers, with outcasts unseen,
Your presence made every corner serene.
But ah! The moment when Sita was taken,
By Ravana’s pride, by evil shaken.
O Ram, the tears of Earth cried loud,
And gods bent low with heads unbowed.
With Hanuman’s leap, with army’s might,
You crossed the ocean, You lit the night.
The war was fierce, the battle long,
But truth defeated the reign of wrong.
Ravana fell, yet You bore no hate,
You granted peace, you sealed his fate.
Back to Ayodhya, with glory adorned,
A kingdom rejoiced, a new dawn born.
O Ram, Your journey, forever told,
Is a treasure eternal, brighter than gold.
In every age, Your story shall be,
A guide for all humanity.
