It feels wonderful...
I wish to wake up as early as possible,
and the moment I rise, I run toward the terrace.
I have planted saplings on the terrace,
on the stairs while coming down,
on the ground floor too,
and even in front of my house.
I have sown some seeds,
and every day I plant new ones.
Some new plants have sprouted,
some are yet to come out,
some are growing tall,
and some are withering away.
I water them every day,
both morning and evening,
sometimes a little too much,
in the hope that my plants will grow faster.
Sometimes, I even add a bit of fertilizer.
I pour a little extra water
where plants are wilting,
or where the saplings are still small,
or where I’ve just sown the seeds.
It feels wonderful
when the seeds I’ve sown turn into plants,
when those plants grow taller,
when new leaves appear,
and when new flowers bloom... 🌿
Chhath has passed,
October has gone,
November has arrived,
but with it came unseasonal rain,
caused by some cyclone.
It rained heavily,
so I stopped watering my plants.
Some of my plants got damaged.
I couldn’t make a shade in time.
The pots filled up with water,
and when I drained them, some soil washed away too.
It doesn’t feel good,
I can hardly bear to see it.
Yet, to reduce the loss,
I’m doing my best...
