One day, the light in my eyes will begin to fade,
Rupesh Ranjan tells:
One day,
the light in my eyes will begin to fade,
and I may not be able to look at you
the way I do today.
Your smile may become a blur,
your beautiful face a distant outline,
and the little details I adore about you
may slowly slip beyond my sight.
One day,
I will grow weaker.
My hands may tremble,
my steps may slow,
and I may no longer be able
to hold you with the strength
with which I hold you now.
One day,
my voice may become faint,
and the words
"I love you"
may not leave my lips
as easily as they do today.
And perhaps,
one day,
I may even leave this world behind.
But my love...
My love will not leave with me.
For love is not carried by the eyes,
nor spoken only by the voice,
nor measured by the strength of our hands.
Love lives deeper than all of these.
Just as a flower leaves behind its fragrance,
just as the sunset leaves its colors upon the sky,
I too will leave pieces of my love
in every corner of your life.
When a gentle breeze touches your face,
think of me.
When the moonlight rests upon your window,
think of me.
When an unexpected smile appears upon your lips,
know that somewhere,
my love has found its way back to you.
Because true love does not fear time.
It does not fear wrinkles,
weakness,
distance,
or even death.
It simply changes its form
and continues to exist.
So if one day
my eyes can no longer see you,
if my hands can no longer reach for yours,
if my voice can no longer whisper your name,
or if I am no longer here at all—
Do not think that my love has ended.
For while I may leave this world,
my love for you
will remain in every sunrise,
every quiet prayer,
every beautiful memory,
and every beat of your heart
that once answered mine.
And as long as love exists,
a part of me
will always be with you.
