Ram, The Eternal Ideal
Ram, The Eternal Ideal
O Ram, son of Dasharatha, prince of Ayodhya’s sacred land,
Your footsteps resound in eternity, gentle yet grand.
Not merely a king, nor just a tale of might,
But the living flame of dharma, eternal guiding light.
When darkness veiled kingdoms, when arrogance rose tall,
You stood as righteousness, a savior for all.
The forests knew Your silence, the rivers Your song,
For truth was Your weapon, against deceitful wrong.
In exile, You walked with no crown, no throne,
Yet the world bowed before You, though You stood alone.
Sita, Your beloved, shone as patience defined,
While Lakshman’s loyalty carved bonds refined.
O Ram, every breath of Yours whispers restraint,
Teaching mortals to bear, to endure without complaint.
Not by force did You conquer, but by virtue’s flame,
You rose as Maryada Purushottam—forever the name.
In battlefields fierce, where Ravana stood proud,
You roared not with fury, but calm, deep, and loud.
“Truth shall prevail,” was Your subtle decree,
As arrows of justice set dharma free.
And today, when hearts tremble in worldly disguise,
When greed blinds vision, when falsehood belies,
O Ram, we seek Your footsteps again,
To wash away sorrows, to cleanse all pain.
You are not a memory, nor a story to fade,
But the eternal principle, divinely laid.
O Ram, in every heart may Your dharma stay,
A lamp of truth lighting life’s way.
